About

Subpages:

Hello! My name is Tamisa, and I’m a 22 year old recent college graduate (Hook ‘em!) who resides in Texas. I am a science nerd, a web design enthusiast, an amateur photographer, a bibliophile, an avid music listener, and a romantic at heart. Interestingly (or not so interestingly) enough, I’ve decided to cultivate my interest in the sciences and pursue a career as a physician: hopefully I won’t be too much of a detriment to the field of medicine. (Joking. Sort of.)

Blogging & Monologu.es

I’m no novice to blogging — I have a history of starting too many journals and not knowing what to do with them. You could say I have journal-ADD. My hopes is that this blog is one of the few Xanga, Tabulas, Vox, Livejournal, Lostjournal, Deadjournal, Greatestjournal, Livejourbal, and who-knows-what-else-journal blogs that I actually habitually update.

My fascination with blogging and web design started early: I was first introduced to the concept of an actual weblog (compared to, say a diary) by chance and was amazed by it. I first started blogging on Geocities in sixth grade, manually updating my blog with entries and using Haloscan for comments. (Oh, the good old days!) HTML and CSS seemed to provide endless possibilities on the internet, and I was eager to learn all about it. Fast forward several years later, and here I am — older, arguably un-wiser, and still trying to comprehend the opportunities that the internet affords.

I mostly developed my web design “skills” while building fansites to fictional characters of interest. Recently, however, I began desiring a more personal space on the internet — monologu.es was then born. The name comes from a combination of two things: what I’ve been calling my public blog for a few years now — Monologuing — and my amusement at domain names that actually spell words out.
