Adventures of a photography noob

So I’m taking pictures at night with my camera and nifty fifty, a lens that’s notorious for being pretty much amazing under low light conditions, but all my pictures come out dark, even at f/1.8 and max ISO. I think there’s something wrong with the lens –

– until I realize that my exposure compensation is set at -5. Good going, self. Remember that you’re still pretty much new at photography, thanks.

Until my next random update — I bring you my cousin, eyeing trinkets in a local store:

Lovely photo! Can’t wait to see more.

I should probably take another photography class since I don’t exactly remember all that photography talk back in the 11th grade, lol.

I don’t know what any of those terms mean, about like, exposure and stuff, but your photograph is really beautiful regardless of your derpness, heh. :)
